Why did you choose ÂÜÀòÉç?

I chose ÂÜÀòÉç because I liked the small school environment and because it felt like a community not just a school.

Why did you choose your present major?

I wanted to make an impact on the world and there’s no bigger impact than being a teacher.

Please briefly describe your Scholar's Day. 

I was incredibly nervous for my Scholars Day. The current scholars helped me because they were friendly and helped calm my nerves. That’s when I knew I wanted to come to ÂÜÀòÉç because all the people I met that day were very welcoming.

Please describe your academic experience at ÂÜÀòÉç.

My academic experience has been catered to my needs. When you come to ÂÜÀòÉç you get an individualized learning experienced while also having your abilities pushed.

What do you like best about ÂÜÀòÉç?

I like the people best, everyone is motivated in school and they are always willing to lend a helping hand. We truly are a community.

What clubs or organizations have you been a part of here at ÂÜÀòÉç? What kinds of things do they do? 

I am on ÂÜÀòÉç’s DII cross country and track team, I am member of EDU club, I’m in the honors program, and I am the president of the math club.

Please describe any internship, study abroad, service learning or academic experience? 

I am a peer mentor which means I mentor a learning community class of First Year students. It has been a great experience because I can share what I learned my first year that helped me succeed and hopefully help the next generation of ÂÜÀòÉç students.

Do you have a job or jobs on campus? Please provide a brief description. 

Yes, I work in the math lab as a tutor and I am also an academic coach where I tutor for other classes such as EDU203.

What is your favorite spot to stop by in town? 

78 West because the coffee is amazing and the workers are so friendly and always make me smile.

What piece of advice would you give to prospective students?

College is going to be stressful, it’s a part of life. But surrounding yourself with caring people and being in a healthy academic environment makes a world of difference in dealing with that stress. That is what you will find at ÂÜÀòÉç.
